    This research analyses the major contributions of Rural Enterprises for Sustainable Livelihoods Tonga (RESULT) to the Tongan communities. First and foremost, an understanding of the nature, status, potential and challenges of the RESULT as a rural social enterprise is explain in research background. 65% of respondents for this research were selected using multi – stage random sampling technique. Data were collected using semi – structured interview and personal observation. The result of this research after a descriptive analysis showed that the RESULT has provided employment opportunities for women, people in rural areas and disable people. Nevertheless, provides income of T$45,692.23 for coconut farmers in 2015 alone and has been exporting coconut commodity earning revenue of T$181,496.67 (2014 -2015) that will be invested in projects aiding young people in the communities.

    The crucial problem of Indonesian rice production includes low production efficiency and low productivity. This leads to a condition in which rice production is relatively low and imported rice dominates the Indonesian market. Organic agriculture is often proposed as a solution for producing food with reduced environmental impact. The aims of this research is analysis of the input variable effect and socio-economics characteristic to organic rice production. Survey was carried out in Malang regency, East Java, Indonesia by purposive sampling. The total of 40 respondents are organic rice farmer. The data will be analyzing quantitative method and regression analysis with SPSS. The result shows that input variables: land area, capital, and labor status (family and hired), have significant and positive to organic rice production as great as 2.098 (land area), and 0.078 (capital). The variables which are not significant to organic rice production are the seed, labor, and organic pesticide. The variable socio-economic characteristics which have significant and positive impact on organic rice production are gender, education level, and organic experience. The variables which have significant and negative effect are conventional experience and side work. The variable which has not significant is age because the majority of the farmer is old and the young seek an office work and leave the farming.

    Kaizen is a Japanese philosophy, which simply refers to a management system that focuses on continuous improvement. It originated from Japan during the post-World War II. The concept has become popular not only among Japanese companies but also among non-Japanese companies worldwide. In 2013, the kaizen concept was introduced to Tanzania, aiming at helping to boost and ensure a sustainable growth of Tanzanian firms in all aspects of quality and performance improvement. This research paper aimed at gathering information about awareness of the kaizen among the sugar industry workers and its acceptability towards contributing to the industry sustainable growth. Observations, structured questionnaires and non-structured interviews were the data collection methods used to obtain primary data from the sugar companies in Tanzania. Respondents from the respective companies were selected randomly among the workers with the help from the management team. Descriptive statistics was used to interpret data collected and SPSS was the statistical tool used as a data analysis tool. The findings of the survey revealed that majority of the respondents showed their readiness and enthusiasm to implement the philosophy in their work place. However, among the three companies that were visited, only one company was found to have adopted kaizen implementation in their daily activities, and workers that had been interviewed showed a considerably positive impression about how the practice is helping them reach their individual targets and achieve company goals. A conclusion can be drawn that, workers of the Tanzanian sugar factories are aware and accept the kaizen as a technique to help boosting growth of the industry to become a self-sufficient in sugar production and become a net sugar exporter.
