Although surgical resection is the mainstay of treatment for lip cancer, reconstruction of the tissue defect after lip cancer resection must take into consideration not only lip function, but also the patient's appearance. However, there is no standard recommendation regarding the reconstruction method. We describe here a case in which we achieved good functional and esthetic results using a tongue flap and V-Y advancement flap for reconstruction of the tissue defect resulting from resection of lower lip cancer. This reconstruction method is simple and might become one of the treatment options for lower lip reconstruction.
