The angular distribution of the differential cross sections for proton elastic scattering from 132Sn at 196–210MeV/nucleon was successfully measured over a momentum transfer range of 0.80–2.1fm-1. Using a relativistic impulse approximation, the root-mean-square matter radius of 132Sn was extracted as 4.758+0.023<inf>-0.024</inf>fm, which was compared with the state-of-the-art ab initio calculations. Combined with the charge radius measured at ISOLDE, there are no theoretical calculations consistent with both matter and charge radii within the experimental errors.

We present the measured data of the proton analyzing power A<inf>y</inf> in polarized proton elastic scattering of an unpolarized 3He target and the 3He analyzing power A<inf>0y</inf> in unpolarized proton scattering of a polarized 3He target at three intermediate energies: 50, approximately 65, and 100 MeV. The experimental results are compared with rigorous four-nucleon scattering calculations based on the realistic charge dependent (CD) Bonn nucleon-nucleon (NN) potential. Large discrepancies are observed for both A<inf>y</inf> and A<inf>0y</inf> at the angles where the observables exhibit a minimum and a maximum at almost all three measured energies. The examination for discrepancies has been extended to the lower incident energy of 8.5 MeV, revealing that differences exist from 8.5 to 100 MeV for A<inf>y</inf>. The Δ-isobar effects derived using the NN+NΔ coupled-channel approach do not account for the A<inf>y</inf> and A<inf>0y</inf> data at the three investigated energies. We therefore estimated the effects of the irreducible three-body forces associated with the CD Bonn+Δ-isobar calculations. We also analyzed the p-3He elastic scattering amplitudes. The results obtained suggest that A<inf>y</inf> and A<inf>0y</inf> for p-3He elastic scattering at intermediate energies are insensitive to the 2π-exchange-type three-nucleon forces (3NFs), but enhance nuclear interactions, including the 3NFs masked in nucleon-deuteron elastic scattering.

Abstract
A new experimental method to search for the double Gamow–Teller giant resonance using the double charge exchange ($^{12}$C, $^{12}$Be(0$^{+}_{2}$)) reaction is proposed and applied, for the first time, to a ${}^{48}$Ca target at 250 MeV/nucleon using a $^{12}$C primary beam at the RIKEN RI Beam Factory. The events with double isospin- and spin-flip in ${}^{48}$Ca were selected by measuring decay $\gamma$-rays from ${}^{12}$Be(0$^{+}_{2}$). A forward-peaking component in the measured double-differential cross sections was observed with an integrated $0^\circ$ cross section of $1.33 \pm 0.12$ μb/sr in the excitation energy region below 34 MeV in ${}^{48}$Ti. Reaction analyses based on distorted-wave Born approximation calculations and the multipole decomposition based thereon indicate that $\sim$40% of the forward-peaking component originates from the double Gamow–Teller transitions. The transition strength of the double Gamow–Teller transition is evaluated from the extracted forward-peaking cross section.
DOI: 10.1093/ptep/ptae174

In this work we investigate the two-neutron decay of 13Li and of the excited states of 11Li populated via one-proton removal from 14Be and 12Be, respectively. A phenomenological model is used to describe the decay of 11Li and 13Li. While the first one displays important sequential components, the second one appears dominated by the direct two-neutron decay. A microscopic three-body model is used to extract information on the spatial configuration of the emitted neutrons before the decay and shows that the average distance between the neutrons increases going from 11Li to 13Li.

To search for low-energy resonant structures in isospin T=3/2 three-body systems, we have performed the experiments H3(t,He3)3n and He3(He3,t)3p at intermediate energies. For the 3n experiment, we have newly developed a thick Ti-H3 target that has the largest tritium thickness among targets of this type ever made. The 3n experiment for the first time covered the momentum-transfer region as low as 15 MeV/c, which provides ideal conditions for producing fragile systems. However, in the excitation-energy spectra we obtained, we did not observe any distinct peak structures. This is in sharp contrast to tetraneutron spectra. The distributions of the 3n and 3p spectra are found to be similar, except for the displacement in energy due to Coulomb repulsion. Comparisons with theoretical calculations suggest that three-body correlations exist in the 3n and 3p systems, although not enough to produce a resonant peak.
