南九州では古くから焼酎、特に芋焼酎が愛飲され、重要な産業となっている。焼酎製造の過程で蒸留残渣である焼酎粕が焼酎生産量の2倍程度発生する。焼酎粕をエタノール燃料と固形ペレット燃料のバイオマス燃料に変換・利用して処理するプロセスを、焼酎業界と全く異業種といえるあなぶきグループと2014年から共同研究を続け開発した。
当初、焼酎粕を再発酵して生成したエタノールを蒸留してエタノール燃料を製造するプロセスのみの共同研究であったが、その後、エタノール蒸留後の固形分も分離してペレット燃料に成形し利用する総合的な焼酎粕処理プロセスとして研究を進め、2017年11月に宮崎大学産学・地域連携研究センターの敷地内に1日100Lのエタノール発酵を行うパイロットプラントを設置した。パイロットプラントでの実験結果に基づき、1日15tの処理が可能な実証工場「焼酎バイオエナジー宮崎日南工場」を2021年4月に宮崎県日南市に株式会社あなぶきハウジングサービスが開設し、実証運転を開始した。開発した焼酎粕処理プラントの焼酎工場への導入・設置を目指す。
エタノール燃料は、処理プラントの運転のための燃料に利用し、固形ペレット燃料も処理プラントおよびバイオマス発電などの燃料に利用する。これまで廃棄物として「処理」していた焼酎粕を焼酎バイオマスとして捉え、焼酎バイオマス燃料に転換し化石燃料に替わる燃料として「利用」することで、カーボンフリーな社会の構築に貢献できると期待される。 -

本研究では、感温発泡性を有するケイ酸化合物を主成分とする液状消火剤および粉末消火剤を調製し、天ぷら油などの油火災の消火に適用し、消火特性を明らかにした。天ぷら油火災の実験モデルを構築し、消火剤の消火時での発泡挙動、発泡後の固体泡の油中での浮遊状態と経時特性、粉末消火剤の流動特性を明らかにした。種々の組成の消火剤を用いて天ぷら油火災の消火実験を行い、消火時の液状消火剤と粉末消火剤の消火特性を明らかにし、これまで報告した木材火災とマグネシウム火災に加え、油火災の消火にも有効である事を実証した。

本研究では、これまで消火剤の主成分として用いられることの無かった感温性を有するケイ酸化合物を主成分とする消火剤の研究開発を行った。自由噴霧法にて消火能力の有無を調査し、消火に適する組成探索、および各実験系において消火能力を評価した。更に国家検定規格の A1 クリブを用いて消火能力を定量化した。延焼抑止効果を単位面積あたり同一の噴霧量にて評価した。金属マグネシウム消火では、マグネシウム火源に投入する消火剤の様態の影響を明らかにした。マグネシウム消火時の降温のきっかけを特定し、短時間で室温まで冷却する消火剤の粘度特性を評価した。マグネシウム消火残物の調査および被膜の密着性を明らかにした。さらに、マグネシウム消火時の延焼抑止効果も検証した。本消火剤を環境中へ噴霧した場合の影響を検証した。本消火剤の製造プロセスは、製造工程時のトラブル耐性と、充填工程の親環境性を満足させるように構築した。

油滴が水に分散したエマルションやポリマー水溶液の凍結状態を出発状態として、高分子を材料とした多孔質材料の調製と機能化、およびその基本メカニズムに関する研究を行っている。材料形状は球状微粒子や円柱形であり、円筒カラムに充填した状態や水相に分散した状態で使用し、廃液中の有価金属の回収・リサイクルプロセスや環境中の有害物質の分離除去への応用を行っている。最近は、抽出剤内包多孔質マイクロカプセルを調製し簡便な操作で高速に金属イオンを分離できる技術について研究している。さらに、酸化水酸化鉄ナノ粒子と多孔質凍結ゲルを複合化してヒ素吸着材を開発し、地下水ヒ素汚染地域の飲料水確保への利用を検討している。
本技術の特徴は数10μm程度の非常に大きな細孔を形成させ、その細孔径を制御出来ることである。この様な大きな細孔を形成することにより、内部への流路が形成され,高速な分離を達成できる。また、凍結ゲルではゲル壁が非常に薄く、ゲル壁内の物質移動を早くすることが出来る。 -

強靭で、漏れのない、過冷却を抑制した冷熱蓄熱マイクロカプセルの調製法の確立と、15リッター反応器による当該マイクロカプセル製造法の開発及び当該マイクロカプセルを5kWh 冷凍能力を持つ冷熱蓄熱実証試験機の貯水槽に浸漬させる事による実証試験を実施し、氷蓄熱空調システムへの冷熱蓄熱マイクロカプセルによる省電力効果が確認できた。

Introduction
Precious metals such as gold, platinum and palladium are important materials for the high technological industries. For the stable supply of these metals and minimizing their waste, it is necessary to develop an effective recovery technique of precious metals. This technique is related to the recycling of resources and environmental problems. The solvent extraction method has been used for the recovery of precious metals. The solvent extraction method has a high selectivity and is easy to scale-up, but the solvent extraction method uses large amounts of organic solvents. Thus the solvent extraction processes may adversely affect the environment and human body. To solve these problems, the immobilization of the extractant and microencapsulation of the extractant have been investigated. In the studies of microencapsulation, the microcapsules containing an extractant were used for the recovery of precious metals, and the knowledge about extraction equilibrium was obtained. The extraction rate and mechanism of precious metals using microcapsules has only been slightly discussed. For the utilization of extraction technology using microcapsules on an industrial scale, knowledge of the extraction rate and mechanism is very important. In this study, microcapsules containing an extractant were prepared and the effects of the characteristics of the microcapsules on the extraction rate of the precious metals were investigated, and the extraction mechanism using microcapsules was discussed. -

Recent studies suggest that our daily diets have not only nutritional function but also anti oxidative ability. Especially, dietary plants are reported to contain variety of antioxidants such as tocopherol, ascorbic acid, carotenoids, flavonoids, and other polyphenols. Although we have reported antioxidative activity of marine algae [I], most customers frequently eat land plants such as vegetables and fruits rather than marine algae. In this study, we studied antioxidative activity of various vegetables, which commonly consumed in Japan, and examined for their antioxidative activities. In addition, the potent antioxidants observed in the green leafy vegetables were evaluated by using spinach leaf.

Introduction
Reversible complex formation of borate and phenylboronate ions with mono- and oligosaccharides in aqueous solution is well known. These interactions have been employed in separation and detection of compounds containing sugar molecules and synthesis of sugar-responsive materials. Equilibrium constants of the complex formation (Kass) between borate group and particular diols in the saccharide molecules vary from 6 to 2000 M-1 for different sugars, suggesting high selectivity of borate interaction with sugars. Recently, some efforts were made to synthesize water-soluble copolymers containing phenylboronic acid, and to study their properties from the viewpoint of application for sugar sensing and responsing materials and lectin-like materials. Interaction of thermoresponsive boronate-containing copolymers with some carbohydrates and polyols was recently studied by us in a comparative way: owing to hydrophilic properties of the associating molecules, their binding to the copolymer led to a shift of its phase transition temperature (Tp), which might be easily quantified [1, 2]. In this study, we investigated to analyze the interaction of thermo responsive boronate-containing copolymers with some carbohydrates using UV spectral measurement. -

Introduction
The nano materials have excellent properties that differ from that of bulk or macro scale. To utilize the nano materials over the long term, it is necessary to avoid the nano materials from the exposure to the environment. Therefore, coating technique of nano materials with retaining the nano-size and highly dispersed condition is need for the nanotechnology. The preparing method of nano materials which uses surfactant aggregate is popular. An anionic surfactant, di-2-ethylhexyl sodium sulfosuccinate (hereafter AOT) forms spherical reverse micelle in a nonpolar organic solvent. The reverse micelles repeat dispersion and coalescence at the very fast rate and exchange the contents of them. Using this property, it is possible to make nano-particles in the reverse micelles. Recently, polymers which show specific properties against the external irritation have attracted much attention. It is known that poly-N-isopropylacrylamide swells in water under the lower critical solution temperature (LCST = 305K), but it shrinks above LCST, because it changes from hydrophilic state to hydrophobic. By this phenomenon, poly-NIPAM has been studied by many researchers in the fields of extraction, adsorption and drug delivery system. However, poly-NIPAM is usually gelatinous, so that there is a little difficulty of handling. In this study, poly-NIPAM is synthesized in the AOT reverse micellar system and coating technology of nano particle using in-situ polymerization is investigated. -

Introduction
Immobilization of microorganisms is increasingly applied in biotechnological processes. Currently, the immobilized cells have been extensively used for the production of useful chemicals such as alcohols, amino acids, organic acids, antibiotics, or steroids, and for the degradation of wastewater pollutants. In the immobilization of microorganisms by the encapsulation technique, gel-like materials such as calcium alginate, K-carrageenan, and chitosan are widely used as immobilization matrices, because they have biocompatibility. However, regarding the application of these immobilized cells for long-term reactions, these matrices have a limited stability, in which problems such beads disruption and cells leakage are well-known. Recently, to overcome the problems, there are novel attempts to use synthetic polymers, which have a good mechanical and chemical strength, as immobilization matrices for microorganisms I , 2). In this study, we developed the poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) microcapsule with a single large core, and the immobilization of yeast cells into PMMA microcapsules was researched. In addition, the asymmetric reduction utilizing PMMA microcapsules immobilized· yeast cells was performed in an organic media. The model reaction was adopted as the asymmetric reduction of acetophenone to I-phenylethanol as shown in Fig.l. -

Introduction
Extraction technique of metal ions, organic acids and other chemicals in aqueous solution using microcapsules containing extractants as a core materials have been developed [1]. This technique have some advantages such as less amount of organic solvents, the easily treatment as the solid-state for extractants, and the high extraction ability against the ion-exchange resin. In this study, we prepared the microcapsules with millimeter size containing tri-n-octylamine as a core material by in situ polymerization using styrene and divinylbenzene as wall materials, and investigated the effects of preparation conditions on the structural characteristics of the microcapsules obtained. The extraction properties of organic acid into the microcapsules were also investigated. -

Introduction
In a spent electroless nickel-plating bath, nickel and various useful materials have been still contained in large amount. Many researches have investigated to separate and recover nickel from the spent electroless nickel-plating bath. Few researches, however, have studied the separation and recovery of phosphorous acid from the spent bath. In previous work, the extraction equilibrium of phosphorous acid with TOA in toluene have been expressed that TOA (B) consecutively reacts with an undissociated fonn of phosphorous acid (A') to fonn complexes which are A'B, A'2B2 and A'3B2[1]. In this study, the interfacial adsorption equilibria of the extraction complexes to the interface between the aqueous and the organic phases were investigated at 303K. The experimental results of interfacial tension using a single-drop volume method were interpreted by a Langmuir adsorption isotherm for each specie, B, A'B and A'2B2. -

Introduction: The utilization of microorganisms for the fermentative production of amino acids or antibiotics and material conversion using microorganism biocatalysts are used in the medical and food fields. However, there are still many unknown factors concerning the ability of the microorganisms, the utilization fields expand with the increase in the knowledge of microorganisms, and the possible development of future science and technology. The synthesis of an optically active chemical compound using the enzymatic recognition ability of microorganisms and the decomposition of pollutants (chlorinated organic compounds, aromatic compounds, metals, petroleum, dioxin, etc.) using various microorganisms have recently gained attention. Such microorganism applications are technologies that maximizes the useful material production and biocatalyst abilities of microorganisms [1].
In this study, we tried to microencapsulate the useful microorganisms. And, the microcapsule is applied to soil improvement as a soil conditioner. -

Core-shell microcapsule encapsulated repairing material was prepared by the combination of the solvent evaporation of o/w emulsion. Here, we employed dicyclopentadiene (DCPD) as a repairing material. In this study, we investigated in detail microcapsule diameter, thickness of capsule membrane, and DCPD contents influence on initial DCPD concentrations in the preparation condition.

A semi-continuous preparation system for polymer microspheres, which consists of a vibration emulsifier and five series reactors with vibration plates, was developed and was varified on continuous preparation of polystyrene-co-divinylbenzene microspheres by in situ polymerization. An OIW emulsion was prepared using the emulsifier and flowed gradually into the each reactor. The in situ polymerization was carried out in each reactor to form solid particles. The particles prepared in each reactor was taken out from the bottom of the reactor. The average diameter of the particles prepared decreased with increasing in the vibration frequencies of the emulsifier. The average diameter and the quantity of the particles were independent on the vibration frequencies of the vibration plates and on the number of the reactor. Continuous operation was successfully carried out and the sphere particles having uniform shape were continuously prepared for 10 cycles operation, which needed for 55 hr.

Microcapsules containing vitamin E of antioxidant was prepared by the solvent evaporation. In this preparation method, particle size of microcapsules containing vitamin E was about 10 f.lm and polydispersity was held. By adding microcapsules containing vitamin E to the unsaturated fatty acid, it was possible to suppress the auto-oxidation. Furthermore, it was confirmed that the antioxidant effect of the vitamin E microcapsules significantly increased in the coexistence with microcapsules containing vitamin C.

In this work, we would like to discuss the preparation of microcapsules having highly porous poly divinylbenzene (DVB) membranes enclosing tri-n-octylamine (TOA) by in situ polymerization accompanied by the solvent evaporation, the extraction characteristics of precious metals from an acidic aqueous solution and the column separation of precious metals using the prepared microcapsules.

The extraction rate of phosphorous acid in aqueous solution by tri-n-octylamine in toluene was investigated in Lewis transfer cell and Vibro-mixer type extractor for various conditions. The experimental results were interpreted by the rate equation of (1.03, 0.96) and (2.23, 2.06) orders for the acid and the amine in Lewis cell and Vibro mixer extractor. The apparent rate constant in the extractor was enlarged by the vibration of mixing plates, and were determined as a function of frequencies of mixing plates. The mass transfer rate was found to facilitate as 105 folds of that in Lewis type transfer cell. The enlargement of mass transfer rate was caused of increasing in the interfacial area and the surface renewal rate by the formation and breaking of micro liquid particles by the vibration of mixed solution. The vibro-mixer extractor will be more useful the separation of materials having low reaction rate.

Introduction
Unsaturated lipids contained in the various plants and animals are easily oxidized under heat, photo irradiation or metal catalyst, and are firstly converted into lipid peroxides which are further frequently converted to polymers or various carbonyl compounds as the secondary products [1,2]. The compounds formed have negative effects for human health such as cause of cancer or symptom of old aging [3 ,4] . Hence, it is important for human life to elucidate the mechanism of oxidation and anti-oxidation of the lipids. ,B-Carotene and a-tocopherol have commonly known as an antioxidant of lipids. In previous papers, the kinetic analysis of the autoxidation of unsaturated lipids [5, 6] and effect of a-tocopherol on the oxidation were reported [6]. In this study, the effects of p.carotene on the autoxidation rate of linoleic acid were investigated from the oxygen consumption rate by the oxidation. -

焼酎もろみ中に含まれる微量香味成分の最適な分割採取を目的として、精留塔と還流弁を備えた精留ユニットを所定段、直列に設置し、蒸留釜に焼酎もろみを連続的に供給すると同時に釜液を抜き出して釜内のもろみ組成を一定に保つことにより一定組成の留出液が得られる多段定常蒸留装置を開発し、その蒸留特性を明らかにした。蒸留時間によらず、各段から一定濃度でエタノールおよび微量成分が留出され、精留ユニットの段数によって異なる組成の留出液が得られた。揮発性の高いエタノール、酢酸エチルおよび低沸点アルコール類は前段側の精留ユニットより高濃度で留出し、揮発性の低いß–フェネチルアルコールは後段側の精留ユニットより留出された。エタノールおよび微量成分の留出濃度は、焼酎もろみの供給速度、蒸留釜内での滞留時間、還流比およぴ留出段数により制御することができ、留出液中の濃度は蒸留時間内で一定に保てることが分かった。

Reverse micelles, which are self-aggregates of surfactant molecules in apolar organic phase, have the ability to extract proteins from aqueous phase [1]. One intensively studied surfactant is sodium bis(2-ethylhexyl) sulfosuccinate (AOT). The development of new effective reverse micellar systems for protein extraction have been expected. Previously, we reported that the addition of either long chain alkyl amines [2] or water-soluble amines [3] to the extraction system using AOT reverse micelles is effective for the extraction of proteins by the control of pH. In this study, the effect of the addition of diethanollauramide, which is expected to interact moderately with AOT, in the organic phase on the extraction of water and bovine serum albumin (BSA) into the reverse micellar phase was investigated.

To keep long life time of the elecroless nickel plating bath the removal phosphorous acid from the plating bath is necessary. The cognition of equilibria and rate of extraction for the system were required to develop the extraction process. In our previous paper [1], extraction equilibrium of phosphorous acid (A) in the aqueous solution with toluene solution of tri-n-octyl amine TOA (B) was investigated and shown to produce AB, (AB)2 and A2B3 type species by the consecutive reactions of undissociated acid and TOA. Their equilibrium constants were evaluated. In this study, rate of extraction of phosphorous acid from the aqueous plating bath by TOA was investigated in a vibro-mixer type extractor.

We newly synthesized poly(ethyleneoxide-co-monooleate-block-co-D,L-lactide) (MOPEO-PLA). Poly(ethyleneoxide-co-monooleate) (MOPE O), which is highly water-soluble polymer surfactant, has a double bond and hydrophilic PEO segment. PEO has a good biocompatibility and is less interactive with living cells. Polylactide (PLA) is biodegradable and non-toxic polymer. Therefore, block copolymer of MOPEO and D,L-lactide has the potential for functional biocompatible hydrophobic polymer surfactant. It was reported from in our previous study that MOPEO-PLA had sufficient surface activity as well as MOPEO [1]. From this reason, we tried to form a polymer reverse micelle using MOPEO-PLA for bioseparation of proteins.

The recovery process of nickel in the wastewater of electroless nickel-plating was constructed by the solvent extraction with 5-dodecylsalicylaldoxime in the kerosene solution. The extraction rate using a vibro-mixer type extractor for this system was investigated. The result was analyzed based on the information of extraction equilibrium and interfacial reaction rate determined by the result in Lewis type transfer cell. The extraction in the vibro-mixer type extractor was interpreted by the similar interfacial reaction equation derived in Lewis type transfer cell. The rate constant of the reaction was enhanced to 107 time of that in Lewis type transfer cell, and was enhanced by the increase in the interfacial area and surface renewal rate caused by forming of small droplets by vibration of plates.

Microcapsules or micro particle has been usually manufactured by batch reactor process. These processes have some problems on mass production and uniform characteristic of products , production cost etc. In previously, the preparation and characteristics for microcapsules containing protein, inorganic salt or agricultural chemicals by in-situ polymerization or solvent evaporation method were reported. In this study, semi- batch system for manufacturing microcapsule was provided for styrene/divinylbenzene copolymer micro particle. The micro particle was cleared to be prepared continuously 25 times speed of batch system by semi-batch system provided in this study. The effects of preparation conditions on the morphologies and functions of micro particle prepared in semi-batch system were investigated.

Cross- linked microcapsules were prepared by in-situ polymerization and biodegradable microcapsules were pre pared by solvent evaporation method. The effects of preparation conditions on the capsule morphology and entrapment efficiency of inorganic salt were investigated. The average diameter of the surface pores and internal follows were controlled with sub-micron order by changing preparation conditions such as volume fraction of dispersed droplets in (W/O) emulsion, surfactant concentration, monomer ratio and salt concentration in the outer aqueous phase. Furthermore , the entrapment efficiency of inorganic salt was improved by lowering the volume fraction of dispersed droplets in (W /0) emulsion and adding the salt to the outer aqueous phase.

Semi-batch System for Preparation of Micro-sphere with Vibro-mixer Type Reactor and Emulsifier

Micro-spheres have been usually prepared by a batch system in a reactor. In this study, the micro-spheres were prepared by a semi-batch operation of five parallel settled vibro-mixed reactors and a series connected continuous vibro-mixed emulsifier with controlling the switch of valves set in pipe lines for emulsion feed and washing water. Oil containing wall materials in water emulsion prepared by the emulsifier was put into the first step of vibro-mixed reactor, and in one by one in the reactors by the switch of the valves. And then, the wall materials in the first step reactor were polymerized (solvent evaporated) during the filling time for all reactors. Micro-sphere particle prepared after polymerization were taken out set by set, intermittently. After taking out micro-sphere, emulsion feed was put again into the reactor. The effects on characteristics of the micro-spheres were investigated for various concentrations of monomer and surfactants, volume fraction of dispersion phase and vibration frequencies etc.. Diameters of the micro-sphere decreased with increasing of the vibration frequency of emulsifier. However, diameters of micro-sphere were almost independent on the frequency of vibration of the reactors, steps of reactors and recycle numbers of the operations. The concentrations of related species affected greatly on the formation of micro-particle.

Biodegradable microcapsules entrapping activated carbon impregnated with fenestration (MEP) which is used as a pesticide were prepared by the solvent evaporation method in a (solid/oil/water) complex emulsion system. Biodegradable poly-ε-caprolactam (PCL) was used as a wall material. Effects of the preparation conditions, such as the concentrations of PCL and MEP and weight fraction of activated carbon, on the capsule morphology, entrapment efficiency and release profile of MEP were investigated. The microcapsules were able to be successfully prepared under the condition in which there were relatively large quantities of PCL and activated carbon for MEP. The average diameter of the microcapsules increased with an increase in the concentration and molecular weight of PCL and the amount of activated carbon, and with a decrease in the concentration of surfactant in the aqueous phase, the fraction of the dispersed oil phase in the aqueous phase and the agitation speed of the emulsion. The entrapment fraction of MEP into the microcapsules was almost over 90 % in all preparation conditions. MEP encapsulated in the microcapsules was released to water until the MEP concentration in water was reached its saturated concentration. The release rate of MEP decreased with increasing the concentration of PCL. The release profile of MEP would be able to control by the preparation condition of the microcapsules.

Biodegradable microcapsules were prepared by the solvent evaporation method. The effect of the experimental conditions on the adsorption of organic acids such as lactic acid, acetic acid from wastewater were investigated using the biodegradable microcapsules which entrapped both the extractant and the adsorbent. The amount of adsorbed organic acids in using biodegradable microcapsules were greater than the case of the simple extractant substance or simple adsorbent substance. In addition, the amount of absorbed organic acid dramatically increased by controlling the structure of the microcapsule, the entrapment efficiency of the adsorbent and the extractant into the microcapsule. The Freundlich equations, Langmuir adsorption isotherm equation and B.E.T. equation explained the obtained experimental result. From these analytical results, the adsorption equilibrium constant and unimolecule saturation absorbed amount were calculated.

It was found that shochu manufacturing using the waste water of a shochu distillery as a adding water for the next fermentation (repeated-batch fermentation) was possible. When the repeated use number of the waste water was within twice, quality of the fermentation products was almost same to them by the usual fermentation. When the mixture solution of equal volumes of the waste water and distilled water was used for the fermentation, the formation rate of ethanol did not change in spite of the repeated times of the repeated-batch fermentation. The shochu mush (moromi) produced with the repeated-batch fermentation was distilled using a multi-staged batch distiller which has three stages for collecting distillate. The relations between compositions and distillation stages or times were investigated at various conditions. The composition of ethanol and other minute components in the distillate from each stage was almost equal regardless of the repeated times of the repeated-batch fermentation. Consequently, it was clear that the distillation composition of each component depends on the distillation time and the stage collecting distillate of distillation column.

Cross-linked microcapsules were prepared by in-situ polymerization of styrene and divinylbenzene, and biodegradable microcapsules were prepared by solvent evaporation method. The effects of preparation conditions on the capsule morphology and entrapment efficiency of water-soluble materials were investigated. The average diameter of the surface pores and internal hollows were controlled with sub-micron order, and the watersoluble materials were completely entrapped in the biodegradable microcapsule.

The oxidation of squalene was investigated at various conditions. An induction period with a slow increase in hydroperoxide and an accelerated period with a rapid increase are observed. One of decomposition products is confirmed to be a ketone. The formation rate of peroxide derived from a chain reaction model of lipid radical is independent of the peroxide concentration in the induction period, and is expressed by the first order of the peroxide concentration in the accelerated period.

The extraction equilibrium and rate of nickel with 5-dodecylsalicylaldoxime was investigated at 303K. The extraction equilibrium for this system was determined. The dependency of the extraction rate on the concentration of each chemical specie participating in the extraction was examined. In order to analyze the interfacial adsorption mechanism, the interfacial tension between the organic and the aqueous phases either with or without nickel were measured by Wilhelmy's vertical plate method. By analyzing the results based on the interfacial reaction model, it was estimated that the rate-determining step is the interfacial reaction between the adsorbed 1: 1 nickel chelate complex and the extractant. The experimental results obtained the transfer cell can be explained by this interfacial reaction model.

Effect of antioxidants on oxidation of linoleic acid were measured at various reaction conditions. Oxidation was proceeded by the way of induction and accelerated periods and the rate of induction period was suppressed in low addition of a-tocopherol, but in high addition of a-tocopherol, the rate of induction period was promoted and the steady period were observed between the induction and accelerated period. Ascorbic stearate acted as antioxidant of oxidation of linoleic acid. Mutual effect of suppression on the oxidation of linoleic acid was observed in addition of both a-tocopherol and Ascorbic stearate. The rate equation was leaded using the chain reaction model of lipid radical to explain the experimental results.

Biodegradable microcapsules entrapping water soluble materials such as potassium nitrate, bovine serum albumin, and egg yolk proteins were prepared by the solvent evaporation method in a (W/OIW) complex emulsion system. Effects of preparation conditions of (W/O) emulsion and concentrations of salts in the inner and
outer aqueous phases on the capsule morphology and the entrapment efficiency of the core materials were investigated. The entrapment efficiency of core material was improved by decreasing in the volume fraction and concentration of salt in the inner aqueous phase, by the irradiation of ultrasonic wave on (W/O) emulsion, and by increasing in concentration of salt in the outer aqueous phase. The entrapment efficiency decreased by the releasing of core material in the course of wall formation of the microcapsules.

(W/O/W)エマルションの液中乾燥法により生分解性マイクロカプセルを調製し,その構造制御および芯物質の内包制御について検討した. 芯物質の内包特性は,内水相体積分率制御, 外水相塩濃度制御および内水相への超音波照射によって飛躍的に向上させることができた.また, マイクロカプセルの内部構造は内包特性を反映した構造をとることがわかった.

Lipids are oxidized at various conditions. The primary products of oxidation of lipids were hydro-peroxides. The hydro-peroxides are further decomposed with heat and light to form secondary products such as ketones, aldehydes or acids. Considering the harmful effects on health of the hydro-peroxides and these secondary products, it is very important to obtain the information of formation and inhibition of hydro-peroxides. a-Tocopherol has commonly used as an antioxidant of lipids. INTRODUCTION
Reverse micelles have been extensively investigated as a media for extraction of proteins and enzymes2,5,6. Most previous studies were carried out in the system using sodium bis (2-ethylhexyl) sulfosuccinate (AOT) as surfactants. Extraction of proteins with the AOT reverse micellar system can be carried out by the control of the electrostatic interaction, for example, forward extraction can be carried out at pH lower than isoeIectric point (PI) of protein, where proteins have positive charge, and back extraction at pH higher than the pI, where proteins have negative charge. The electrostatic interaction can be most effective for the extraction of protein. However, at the same time, the electrostatic interaction often causes a structural change and inactivation of proteins. Some studies have been reported on the control of the formation of reverse micelles by pH3,4, pressure7 and temperature1 for the purpose of developing novel and effective extraction processes of protein. In this paper, the mixed systems of AOT and long chain alkyl amines, such as tri-n-octylamine (TOA), bis (2-ethylhexyl)amine (DEHA), di-n-octylamine (DOA), n-octylamine (OA) were used as a reverse micellar solution. Effect of pH on the extraction characteristics of proteins and water in the mixed micellar systems was investigated. -

INTRODUCTION
In shochu mash, citric acid, fatty acids and many other minor components are contained in addition to water and ethyl alcohoL Fatty acids react with ethyl alcohol to form their esters having high volatility. and the taste and smell of shochu are influenced by content of these esters [Nishiya et aL, 1978]. Therefore, it is important to determine the esterification rate of the fatty acids and ethyl alcohol in the pot still for the fundamental study of shochu distillation.
In this study. esterification rate of the llinoleic acids and ethyl alcohol, vapor-liquid equilibria of minor ethyl Iinoleate in aqueous ethanol solution, and behavior of ethyl linoleate in batch rectification of aqueous ethanol solution containing linoleic acid and citric acid were investigated. -

Oxidation rates of linoleic acid were investigated under various conditions. Two of the periods, induction having low rate and accelerated having high rate were observed without antioxidant, a-tocopherol. The rate equation of the oxidation was derived by assuming autoxidation mechanism. The rate of these periods were the zero order and the first order of hydro-peroxide formed, respectively. With a-tocopherol, the steady state period was added to both periods without antioxidant. The rate of induction was affected by the amounts of antioxidant. The time length of steady state depended on the dimer of a-tocopheroxyl radical. However, the rate of accelerated period was independent of addition of antioxidant and same order as without antioxidant.

N-Phosphonomethylchitosan(=PHMC) was synthesized to examine the antimicrobial activity against Escherichia coli
(=E'coli) and Staphylococcus aureus(=St.aureus). The antimicrobial activity was evaluated by measuring the decrease in the number of viable cells in the bacteria suspension after contacting with the resin for prescribed time. PHMC exhibited a high antibacterial activity for both bacteria. The antimicrobial mechanism was presumed to be electrostatic interaction between the surface of resin and bacteria. -

Adsorption equilibria of mercury(II) on some chitosan derivatives were examined at 303K from hydrochloric acid and aqueous ammonium nitrate solution. Among the chitosan derivatives, N-(3-methylthiopropyl)chitosan(=MTPC) and N(2-pyridylmethyl)chitosan(=PMC) exhibited a high selectivity and adsorption ability for mercury( II) over base metals such as copper(II), nickel(II), cobalt(II), zinc(II), manganese(II), iron(Ill), and calcium(II) from hydrochloric acid. Adsorption equilibria of mercury on MTPC and PMC were quantitatively considered from aqueous ammonium nitrate solution and hydrochloric acid by examining the effects of hydrogen ion and chloride ion concentrations, respectively.

The extraction of bovine serum albumin (BSA, M.W. 66 kDa, pI 4.9) was carried out using reverse micelles of sodium di(2-ethylhexyl) sulfosuccinate (AOT). When CaCI2 or MgCI2 is used, BSA is extracted at pH higher than pI. In the cases of KCI and NaCl, the extraction of BSA is occurred at narrow pH range, and the maximum extraction was achieved at pH of 5.5 for NaCl and 5.0 for KCI, respectively. The BSA extraction decreased sharply at high concentration of NaCI and KCI. Sufficient concentration of AOT in the organic phase, which is depend on salt type and concentration, is required to extract BSA to the organic phase. BSA extracted to the organic phase can be backextracted to a new aqueous phase at high pH range and high salt concentration.

Extraction of various proteins into AOT reverse micelles were investigated at various pHs. Large molecular weight proteins higher than 30 kDa, such as ovalbumin, BSA, catalase and hemoglobin, were extracted under a certain condition. Effects of pH and salt on the extraction was dependent on the kinds of protein. In the extraction of large proteins at pH lower than pi, the formation of aggregate of the proteins was predominantly occurred. Large proteins, which formed preferentially the aggregation by the extraction at pH lower than pI, caused structural change in the aqueous phase containing AOT and NaCl by electrostatic interaction.

Preparation of biodegradable microcapsules with polylactic acid type biodegradable plastic (lacty) was performed by (W/OlW)emulsion-solvent evaporation method. At first, (W/O)emulsion was prepared by dispersing an aqueous protein solution into the organic phase consisting of lacty, hexaglicerine ricynoreic acid and ethylene dichloride. Then, (W/OlW)emulsion was prepared by dispersing the (W/O)emulsion into outer aqueous phase consisting of decaglicerinericynoreic mono lauric aid and polyvinyl alcohol. The characteristic of microcapsules and entrapment of core material into microcapsules were found to be controlled by the operating conditions as dispersion phase ratio, concentration of surfactant.

Solvent extraction systems were screened to develop effective recovery process of nickel from waste water containing condensed nickel and sulfuric acid. The extractants used were 5-dodecyl salicylaldoxime (LIX860), di-2-ethylphosphiric acid (DEHPA), 2-methyl-2 hexyloctanoic acid (VA-I0) and their mixture with used as the extractant, were dissolved in kerosene. Nickel was difficult to extract effectively with single extractant system. Synegetic effect was observed in the system with the mixture of LIX860 and DEHPA, and effective extraction of nickel was achieved. Effects of pH, the concentration and the mixing ratio of the extractans, sulfuric acid concentration on extraction of Ni were investigated. The extraction mechanism was also discussed.

The oxidation of squalene by oxygen was investigated at 358 K for various concentrations of squalene diluted by squalene. The species formed by the oxidation were analyzed by HPLC with UV and chemical luminescence detectors and the iodometry titration method. The six kinds of hydroperoxides were found to formed by the oxidation. Their peroxides was polymerized itself and decomposed to form polymers and/or lower molecular weight organic acids, ketones and aldehydes. The formation rate of hydroperoxides is found to be affected by the concentration.

Oil phase contain N2 gas was dispersed in the aqueous to form gas/oil/aqueous emulsion using Vibro Mixer. N2 gas/oil/aqueous emulsion was discharged to form O/W emulsion with uniformed diameter. The effect of operation conditions such as gas flow rate or dispersion phase ratio on the diameter and its variance were discussed. The average diameter of OIW emulsion formed was increased with gas flow rate until about 100 ml/min and then decreased. The variance was held at nearly constant until about 100 mL/min and then increased with gas flow rate.

O/W emulsion was continuously prepared by a new type emulsification apparatus which is the column type mixer with the divided compartments and the vibration plates with through holes. OIW emulsion could be prepared continuously, and the emulsion prepared was stable and no change of diameter was observed for one week. The flow rate and the flow ratio of the organic and aqueous phases and the vibration frequency of the plates were changed and effects of their operation conditions on the diameter of the dispersed droplets were investigated. The diameter decreased with an increase in the vibration frequency of the plates and reached to the constant value at frequency higher than a certain value which depended on the dispersed-phase holdup.

Di(2-ethylhexyI)aminoacetophenone(D2EHAA) and its oxime derivative(D2EHAO) were synthesized by di(2-ethylhexyl)amine and a-chloroacetophenone using a conventional method. Extraction equilibria of Pd(ll) and Pt(IV) from acidic chloride media were measured using D2EHAA or D2EHAO dissolved in toluene. D2EHAA was found to be a highly selective extractant for Pd(ll) and Pt(IV) in the low concentration region of hydrochloric acid containing much base metal ions. D2EHAO exhibited a high selectivity for Pd(TI) and Cu(ll) in the extraction from 1 mol/dm3 aqueous sodium chloride solution.

The extraction equilibrium of gold(lm, platinum(IV) and palladium(II) from hydrochloric acid solutions with tri-n-octylamine in toluene were investigated at 303.K. The results were analyzed based on the reaction between the chloro-complex of these metals and the complex of TOA with hydrochloric acid. The equilibrium constants of the reaction, KM, were determined to be 6x105 for palladium, 1.8x106 for platinum, and 2.3x104 for gold.

It is necessary to recycle for precious metals in the lack of resources. The refining of these metals could be efficiently accomplished by the technique of selective solvent extraction or ion exchange. For practical usage of the solvent extraction process, it necessary to clarify extraction equilibrium for the related materials. In previously, the extraction and back-extraction of palladium with tri-n-octylamine was analyzed to clarify the complex formed and the equilibrium constant [1]. In this paper, The extraction and back-extraction of platinum in aqueous hydrochloric acid with TOA toluene solution were analyzed to clarify the complexes formed and equilibrium constant.

INTRODUCTION: A two-phase enzymatic reaction system has recently become of interest since a variety of oil soluble compounds was usable asa substrate [1]. A number of oil and fat are water-immiscible liquid or solid. Their hydrolysis with lipase was carried out in a two-phase system, that is, by contacting aqueous enzyme solution and liquefied or solubilized oil and fat. In a present study, the hydrolysis of olive oil with lipase was examined. Many studies about this system have been conducted, but there are only a few reports concerning the kinetics and commercial processes [2].
The purposes of this work are to clarify the kinetics of olive oil hydrolysis with lipase in a two-phase system and to carry out the hydrolysis using a new continuous column "Vibro Mixer". -

Extraction and stripping rates of palladium with tri-n-octylamine in toluene were measured in SPG(Shirasu porous glass) membrane extractor. Extraction rate of palladium was controlled by the diffusion of palladiumchloride through the
porous membrane. The stripping rate was greater more than tenth of that in extraction, and was determined by the interfacial reaction rate.
