2005年及び2010年世界農林業センサスの林業経営体調査について、統計法33条に基づき個票データを申請、入手し、公表されている集計データでは行えない詳細な経営分析を行う。特に、2005年と2010年の個票を接続し、パネル化して分析を行う。これによって、いわゆる林業経営体、林業事業体を含めた林業の担い手の現状を明らかにし、持続可能な林業構造について検討する。

素材生産における環境配慮を進めるための事業体論及び業界論の構築

この数年、木材自給率が上昇するなど、我が国の国産材素材生産に活発化の兆しが見られる。しかしその一方で、素材生産の現場では、低迷する立木価格、素材生産における車両系機械の多用により、再造林放棄、伐採跡地の荒廃が目立つようになり、環境への影響が心配されている。こうした中で、宮崎県では素材生産業界がNPO法人を立ち上げ、環境に配慮した素材生産を支援する活動を始めた。本研究の最終目的は、この種の業界活動がどのような可能性を持ちうるのかを検討し、取るべき方策について示唆を与えることである。応募者はこれまでこのNPOの活動に関わってきたのであるが、その中で、この最終目的のためには、学術的な二つの課題に答えを出すことが重要であると考えるようになった。それは、素材生産事業体論と素材生産業界論である。そこで、本研究では、この事業体論と業界論を構築し、それを踏まえて、環境に配慮した素材生産を支援する業界活動の可能性について論じることを目的とする。
