The thesis describes the technique of the LSI realization for a Cellular neural network's (CNN). One of the serious problems is the increase of power consumption. Because many multipliers are used in CNN cells, the relization of very low power multiplier is most effective solution for the problem of the power consumption described previously.### In this thesis, a low-voltage and low-power multiplier using MOSFET's operated in the weakinversion region is proposed. In the weak inversion region, the drain-to-source current of MOSFET is very small as compared with a strong reversal region, and is known that the exponential characteristic is shown. I design the four-quadrant multiplier based on the characteristics and tranlinear principle. Finally, the CNN cell using the proposed circuits is designed and is evaluated using HSPICE simulation. The results of the evaluation are shown in this thesis.

組合せ最適化問題を解く方法の一つとしてメタ戦略の研究が近年注目されている.先行研究からメタ戦略のテクニックを組み合わせる際には相性問題があることが知られている.そこで本研究では,既に提案されている反復局所探索法と筆者らが提案した目的関数調整法を組み合わせることによりどのような性能を示すのか計算機実験を行い,その有効性を検討する.

本研究では,ニューラルネットワークにおける汎化能力を向上させるための改良型交差検証法を提案する.本研究では,提案する改良型交差検証法を中間点検証法と呼ぶ.従来の交差検証法では,訓練データを2又はN組に分ける処理が重要でそれにより性能が左右される問題があった.提案する中間点検証法は,既知の訓練データから新たなデータを生成し,その新たなデータから評価基準値を算出して,過学習がおきないように学習を止める手法である.そのため,事前に新たなデータを生成しないといけないが,訓練データを2又はN組に分ける処理は必要なく,実装がより容易になっている.また,提案法を用いて数値シミュレーション実験を行い,従来法と比較し提案法の有効性を示す.

Wakuya&Zuradaは,時系列処理において順時間方向の信号処理だけでなく逆時間方向の信号処理も用いた双方向型計算様式を提案し,その計算様式を用いることで時系列予測の性能が向上すると報告している(Wakuya & Zurada, 2001).本研究では,時系列予測に優れたモデルであるLocal Linear Wavelet Neural Network(Chenら,2006)に対して双方向型計算様式を参考にした学習アルゴリズムを適用し,その学習アルゴリズムの有効性を計算機実験により検証する.

Immune system is a network of cells, tissues, and organs that work together to defend the body against attacks by foreign invaders. Self/nonself discrimination ability based on the pattern recognition of molecular is a key feature in the defense of the host organism. T and B lymphocytes (we also call them T cells and B cells respectively) are two main types of immune cells which play principal roles in immune response. They express receptors on their surfaces to determine a given antigen. In this paper, we use metaphors extracted from natural immune systems and propose an artificial immune system model by considering both T cells dependent antigen recognition and T cells independent antigen recognition. We illustrate the ability of the proposed model in clustering analog patterns and recognizing noisy binary patterns. Simulation results are presented in support of the model and compared the results with that of other artificial immune models. © Medwell Online, 2006.

An improved algorithm of Guided Local Search called objective function adjustment algorithm is proposed for combinatorial optimization problems. The performance of Guided Local Search is improved by objective function adjustment algorithm using multipliers which can be adjusted during the search process. Moreover, the idea of Tabu Search is introduced into the objective function adjustment algorithm to further improve the performance. The simulation results based on some TSPLIB benchmark problems showed that the objective function adjustment algorithm could find better solutions than Local Search, Guided Local Search and Tabu Search.
