Systematic measurement of the D(p,pp)n cross section at E = 13MeV at star configurations at various inclined angle α is in progress at Kyushu University tandem accelerator laboratory (KUTL). The measured cross section at space star (α = 90°) is about 12% below the recent pd calculation. The next measurement is being made at 0° < α < 90° to see if the large anomaly of about 25% found by the Köln group (2006) at backward α exists also at forward α. © Springer-Verlag 2008. p

In our previous measurement of pd radiative capture at E = 137 and 196MeV, we found an interesting fact that the measured tensor analyzing powers show the relation A ≈ A , although calculated A and A are apparently different, A ≠ A . The measured A agrees fairly well with the 3N calculations, and the measured A largely disagrees with calculated A . Similar experiments on pd capture have been made at KVI at nearly the same energies of 130-180MeV. The KVI data also support A ≈ A relation, but absolute values of A and A at KVI are about half of RCNP data. Therefore, we made a new experiment of pd capture at E =196MeV. The cluster structures of the excited states in 11B and 13C were discussed by measuring the isoscalar monopole strengths in the inelastic α scattering at Eα = 388 MeV. It was found that the $1/2-2$, $1/2-3$, and $1/2-4$ states in 13C are candidates for the α cluster states with a 3α + n molecular configuration. © 2008 World Scientific Publishing Company.

The preliminary results on the tensor T20 analyzing power for the 12C(d→,p)13C* reaction with the excitation of 13C levels and the d(d→, p) X reaction at the energies Td = 140, 200 and 270 MeV at the emission angle θcm = 0° are presented. The data on the tensor Ayy and vector Ay analyzing powers for the 12C(d→, p)13C* reaction at the energy Td = 270 MeV in the angular range from 4° to 18° in the laboratory are also obtained. © EDP Sciences and Springer 2008.

The data on the vector Ay and tensor Ayy, Axx, Axz analyzing powers for the d→ d → 3Hp reaction have been obtained at the energy of the initial deuteron of 200 MeV in the angular range of 0-95 degrees in the c.m.s. The calculations performed within one-nucleon exchange model with the use of the standard three-nucleon bound state wave functions fail to reproduce the data on the tensor analyzing powers. © EDP Sciences and Springer 2008.

The investigation of the spin structure of d, 3H, and 3He has been performed at the RIKEN acceleration research facility and VBLHE. Vector A y and tensor A yy, A xx, A xz analyzing powers for d→d → 3Hen and d→d → 3Hp are presented at 270 MeV. Themirror channels (3Hen and 3Hp) are comparedto each other in order to find possible manifestation of charge-symmetry breaking. The preliminary results on the polarization observables for d→d → 3Hp at 200MeV are also presented. The obtained data are compared with one-nucleon-exchange calculations.As a byproduct, d →d → pX and d→12C → pX breakup reactions are investigated at 140, 200, and 270MeV. The experimental data on d→p elastic scattering were obtained at 270, 880, and 2000 MeV at the Nuclotron. The polarization of the deuteron beam was measured at 270 MeV at the internal target station. The preliminary data on the vector A y and tensor A yy, A xx analyzing powers for the d→p elastic scattering at 880 MeV are presented. The calculations on A y, A yy, and A xx analyzing powers for the d→ p elastic scattering at 880 MeV were performed in the framework of the multiple-scattering model. © 2008 Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.

Data for the deuteron analyzing powers in the dd → HeK( Hp) reactions obtained at 140-270 MeV are discussed. The observed negative sign of the tensor analyzing powers A , A and A at small angles clearly demonstrate the sensitivity to the ratio of the D and S state components of the He wave function. The behavior of the tensor analyzing powers at backward angles is sensitive to the short-range spin structure of the deuteron. However, the one-nucleon exchange calculations using standard He and deuteron wave functions fail to reproduce the strong variation of the tensor analyzing powers as a function of angle in the cms. Sensitivity to relativistic effects is also discussed. © 2008 American Institute of Physics. 3 3 3 3 yy xx xz

Space star anomalies in nd and pd breakup reactions are peculiar phenomena, different from other discrepancies in the 3N systems. Recently progress on the pd star anomaly has been made both in experiment and in theoretical calculations. We have started systematic experiments on the pd star, and some preliminary data are presented. © 2008 American Institute of Physics.

Recently it was found that, the differential cross sections of elastic Nd scattering below 150 MeV can be well reproduced by incorporating a 3NF in Faddeev calculations based on modern nucleon-nucleon (NN) interactions. On the other hand, the differential cross sections for nd and pd at 250 MeV show large discrepancies between the data and the Faddeev calculations with a 3NF. This indicates the existence of the missing features of the three nucleon force in this energy region. For the next step in the 3NF study, we have measured the vector analyzing power A and the differential cross sections for the H(p̄, pp)n breakup reaction at 250 MeV. The experiment, was carried out by detecting two protons in the final state with using the double-armed spectrometer Grand Raiden (GR) and the Large Acceptance Spectrometer (LAS) at the Research Center for Nuclear Physics (RCNP). The data was compared with the results of Faddeev calculations with and without a 3NF. © 2008 American Institute of Physics. y 2

The preliminary results on the angular distributions of the vector Ay and tensor Ayy, Axx analyzing powers in dp elastic scattering at Td = 880 MeV are presented. A region of center-of-mass system angles from 60° to 140° is covered. The experimental data are compared with the preliminary calculations obtained within framework of different theoretical approaches. The experiment has been performed at the Internal Target Station at Nuclotron within the framework of the program on the study of light nuclei spin structure proposed at JINR (Russia) and RIBF (Japan). © EDP Sciences and Springer 2008.

Vector analyzing power was measured for the proton elastic scattering on 6He at 71 MeV/u. We applied a solid polarized proton target, which was operated in a low magnetic field of 88 mT and at high temperature of 100 K, to a radioactive-isotope beam experiment. Low energy recoil protons were successfully detected due to the modest operation conditions of the target. Selection of p+6He elastic scattering events was clearly carried out with detected protons. Absolute values of the analyzing power were determined for the first time. © 2007 American Institute of Physics.

From the recent studies, it has been found that the differential cross sections of the elastic Nd scattering at the energy below 150 MeV can be well reproduced by incorporating the 3NF in the Faddeev calculation based on modern nucleon-nucleon (NN) interactions. On the other hand, the differential cross sections of nd and pd at 250 MeV show large discrepancies between the data and the Faddeev calculations with 3NF. For the next step of the 3NF study, we measured the vector analyzing power Ay and the differential cross sections for the 2H(p, pp)n breakup reaction at 250 MeV.
