© 2017 American Physical Society. We report the first measurement of the τ lepton polarization Pτ(D∗) in the decay B→D∗τ-ντ as well as a new measurement of the ratio of the branching fractions R(D∗)=B(B→D∗τ-ντ)/B(B→D∗-ν), where - denotes an electron or a muon, and the τ is reconstructed in the modes τ-→π-ντ and τ-→ρ-ντ. We use the full data sample of 772×106 BB pairs recorded with the Belle detector at the KEKB electron-positron collider. Our results, Pτ(D∗)=-0.38±0.51(stat)-0.16+0.21(syst) and R(D∗)=0.270±0.035(stat)-0.025+0.028(syst), are consistent with the theoretical predictions of the standard model.

© 2017 American Physical Society. We report the first measurement of the T-odd moments in the decay D0→KS0π+π-π0 from a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 966 fb-1 collected by the Belle experiment at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e- collider. From these moments we determine the CP-violation-sensitive asymmetry aCPT-odd=[-0.28±1.38(stat.)-0.76+0.23(syst.)]×10-3, which is consistent with no CP violation. In addition, we perform aCPT-odd measurements in different regions of the D0→KS0π+π-π0 phase space; these are also consistent with no CP violation.

© 2017 The Author(s) Precise measurements of charged-kaon multiplicities in deep inelastic scattering were performed. The results are presented in three-dimensional bins of the Bjorken scaling variable x, the relative virtual-photon energy y, and the fraction z of the virtual-photon energy carried by the produced hadron. The data were obtained by the COMPASS Collaboration by scattering 160 GeV muons off an isoscalar 6 LiD target. They cover the kinematic domain 1(GeV/c) 2 < Q 2 < 60(GeV/c) 2 in the photon virtuality, 0.004 < x < 0.4, 0.1 < y < 0.7, 0.20 < z < 0.85, and W > 5 GeV/c 2 in the invariant mass of the hadronic system. The results from the sum of the z-integrated K + and K − multiplicities at high x point to a value of the non-strange quark fragmentation function larger than obtained by the earlier DSS fit.

© 2017, The Author(s). Using a novel analysis technique, the gluon polarisation in the nucleon is re-evaluated using the longitudinal double-spin asymmetry measured in the cross section of semi-inclusive single-hadron muoproduction with photon virtuality Q2 > 1(GeV/c)2. The data were obtained by the COMPASS experiment at CERN using a 160 GeV/c polarised muon beam impinging on a polarised 6 LiD target. By analysing the full range in hadron transverse momentum p T , the different p T -dependences of the underlying processes are separated using a neural-network approach. In the absence of pQCD calculations at next-to-leading order in the selected kinematic domain, the gluon polarisation Δ g/ g is evaluated at leading order in pQCD at a hard scale of μ 2 = ⟨ Q 2 ⟩ = 3 (GeV / c) 2 . It is determined in three intervals of the nucleon momentum fraction carried by gluons, x g , covering the range 0.04 < xg < 0.28 and does not exhibit a significant dependence on x g . The average over the three intervals, ⟨ Δ g/ g⟩ = 0.113 ± 0. 038 (stat.) ± 0. 036 (syst.) at ⟨ x g ⟩ ≈ 0.10 , suggests that the gluon polarisation is positive in the measured x g range.

© 2017 American Physical Society. We present a measurement of angular observables and a test of lepton flavor universality in the B→K∗ℓ+ℓ- decay, where ℓ is either e or μ. The analysis is performed on a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 711 fb-1 containing 772×106 BB pairs, collected at the (4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the asymmetric-energy e+e- collider KEKB. The result is consistent with standard model (SM) expectations, where the largest discrepancy from a SM prediction is observed in the muon modes with a local significance of 2.6σ.

© 2017 American Physical Society. The COMPASS collaboration has collected the currently largest data set on diffractively produced π-π-π+ final states using a negative pion beam of 190 GeV/c momentum impinging on a stationary proton target. This data set allows for a systematic partial-wave analysis in 100 bins of three-pion mass, 0.5 < m3π < 2.5 GeV/c2, and in 11 bins of the reduced four-momentum transfer squared, 0.1 < t′ < 1.0 (GeV/c)2. This two-dimensional analysis offers sensitivity to genuine one-step resonance production, i.e. the production of a state followed by its decay, as well as to more complex dynamical effects in nonresonant 3π production. In this paper, we present detailed studies on selected 3π partial waves with JPC=0-+, 1++, 2-+, 2++, and 4++. In these waves, we observe the well-known ground-state mesons as well as a new narrow axial-vector meson a1(1420) decaying into f0(980)π. In addition, we present the results of a novel method to extract the amplitude of the π-π+ subsystem with IGJPC=0+0++ in various partial waves from the π-π-π+ data. Evidence is found for correlation of the f0(980) and f0(1500) appearing as intermediate π-π+ isobars in the decay of the known π(1800) and π2(1880).

© 2016 Exclusive production of ω mesons was studied at the COMPASS experiment by scattering 160 GeV/c muons off transversely polarised protons. Five single-spin and three double-spin azimuthal asymmetries were measured in the range of photon virtuality 1 (GeV/c) 2 < Q 2 < 10 (GeV/c) 2 , Bjorken scaling variable 0.003 < x Bj < 0.3 and transverse momentum squared of the ω meson 0.05 (GeV/c) 2 < p T 2 < 0.5 (GeV/c) 2 . The measured asymmetries are sensitive to the nucleon helicity-flip Generalised Parton Distributions (GPD) E that are related to the orbital angular momentum of quarks, the chiral-odd GPDs H T that are related to the transversity Parton Distribution Functions, and the sign of the πω transition form factor. The results are compared to recent calculations of a GPD-based model.

© 2017 American Physical Society. We report the first observation of the radiative charm decay D0→ρ0γ and the first search for CP violation in decays D0→ρ0γ, φγ, and K̄∗0(892)γ, using a data sample of 943 fb-1 collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e- collider. The branching fraction is measured to be B(D0→ρ0γ)=(1.77±0.30±0.07)×10-5, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. The obtained CP asymmetries ACP(D0→ρ0γ)=+0.056±0.152±0.006, ACP(D0→φγ)=-0.094±0.066±0.001, and ACP(D0→K̄∗0γ)=-0.003±0.020±0.000 are consistent with no CP violation. © 2017 American Physical Society. We report the result from the first search for D0 decays to invisible final states. The analysis is performed on a data sample of 924 fb-1 collected at and near the (4S) and (5S) resonances with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e- collider. The absolute branching fraction is determined using an inclusive D0 sample, obtained by fully reconstructing the rest of the particle system including the other charmed particle. No significant signal yield is observed and an upper limit of 9.4×10-5 is set on the branching fraction of D0 to invisible final states at 90% confidence level.

© 2016 American Physical Society. We report a measurement of the ratio R(D∗)=B(B0→D∗+τ-ντ)/B(B0→D∗+ν), where denotes an electron or a muon. The results are based on a data sample containing 772×106 BB pairs recorded at the (4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB e+e- collider. We select a sample of B0B0 pairs by reconstructing both B mesons in semileptonic decays to D∗ ±. We measure R(D∗)=0.302±0.030(stat)±0.011(syst), which is within 1.6σ of the Standard Model theoretical expectation, where the standard deviation σ includes systematic uncertainties. We use this measurement to constrain several scenarios of new physics in a model-independent approach.

© 2016 American Physical Society. Using data collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e- collider, we measure the energy dependence of the e+e-→hb(nP)π+π- (n=1, 2) cross sections from thresholds up to 11.02 GeV. We find clear (10860) and (11020) peaks with little or no continuum contribution. We study the resonant substructure of the (11020)→hb(nP)π+π- transitions and find evidence that they proceed entirely via the intermediate isovector states Zb(10610) and Zb(10650). The relative fraction of these states is loosely constrained by the current data: The hypothesis that only Zb(10610) is produced is excluded at the level of 3.3 standard deviations, while the hypothesis that only Zb(10650) is produced is not excluded at a significant level.

© 2016 American Physical Society. Using a data sample of 980 fb-1 of e+e- annihilation data taken with the Belle detector operating at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e- collider, we report the results of a study of excited Ξc states that decay, via the emission of photons and/or charged pions, into Ξc0 or Ξc+ ground state charmed-strange baryons. We present new measurements of the masses of all members of the Ξc′, Ξc(2645), Ξc(2790), Ξc(2815), and Ξc(2980) isodoublets, measurements of the intrinsic widths of those that decay strongly, and evidence of previously unknown transitions.

© 2016 American Physical Society. We report a measurement of the CP-violation parameter φ1 obtained in a time-dependent analysis of B0→D(∗)0h0 decays followed by D0→KS0π+π- decay. A model-independent measurement is performed using the binned Dalitz plot technique. The measured value is φ1=11.7°±7.8°(stat)±2.1°(syst). Treating sin2φ1 and cos2φ1 as independent parameters, we obtain sin2φ1=0.43±0.27(stat)±0.08(syst) and cos2φ1=1.06±0.33(stat)-0.15+0.21(syst). The results are obtained with a full data sample of 772×106BB pairs collected near the (4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e- collider.

© 2016 American Physical Society. We report the discovery of Ξc(3055)0, observed by its decay into the final-state ΛD0, and present the first observation and evidence of the decays of Ξc(3055)+ and Ξc(3080)+ into ΛD+. We also perform a combined analysis of the ΛD+ with the Σc++K- and Σc∗++K- decay modes to measure the ratios of branching fractions, masses and widths with improved accuracy. We measure the ratios of branching fractions B(Ξc(3055)+→ΛD+)/B(Ξc(3055)+→Σc++K-)=5.09±1.01±0.76, B(Ξc(3080)+→ΛD+)/B(Ξc(3080)+→Σc++K-)=1.29±0.30±0.15, and B(Ξc(3080)+→Σc∗++K-)/B(Ξc(3080)+→Σc++K-)=1.07±0.27±0.04, where the uncertainties are statistical and systematic. The analysis is performed using a 980 fb-1 data sample collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e- collider.
