The production of vector mesons in deep inelastic scattering is an interesting yet scarcely explored channel to study the transverse spin structure of the nucleon and the spin-dependence of fragmentation. The COMPASS collaboration has performed the first measurement of the Collins and Sivers asymmetries for inclusively produced ρ0 mesons. The analysis is based on the data set collected in deep inelastic scattering in 2010 using a 160GeV/c μ+ beam impinging on a transversely polarized NH3 target. The ρ0 mesons are selected from oppositely charged hadron pairs, and the asymmetries are extracted as a function of the Bjorken-x variable, the transverse momentum of the pair and the fraction of the energy z carried by the pair. Indications for positive Collins and Sivers asymmetries are observed.

We present a search for the lepton flavor violating decays B+→K+τ±ℓ∓, with ℓ=(e,μ), using the full data sample of 772×106 BB¯ pairs recorded by the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e- collider. We use events in which one B meson is fully reconstructed in a hadronic decay mode. We find no evidence for B±→K±τℓ decays and set upper limits on their branching fractions at the 90% confidence level in the (1-3)×10-5 range. The obtained limits are the world's best results.

We report measurements of the ratios of branching fractions for B→D¯(∗)πℓ+νℓ and B→D¯(∗)π+π-ℓ+νℓ relative to B→D¯∗ℓ+νℓ decays with ℓ=e, μ. These results are obtained from a data sample that contains 772×106BB¯ pairs collected near the ϒ(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric energy e+e- collider. Fully reconstructing both B mesons in the event, we obtain B(B0→D¯0π-ℓ+νℓ)B(B0→D∗-ℓ+νℓ)=(7.23±0.36±0.14)%, B(B+→D-π+ℓ+νℓ)B(B+→D¯∗0ℓ+νℓ)=(6.78±0.24±0.18)%, B(B0→D¯∗0π-ℓ+νℓ)B(B0→D∗-ℓ+νℓ)=(11.10±0.48±0.23)%, B(B+→D∗-π+ℓ+νℓ)B(B+→D¯∗0ℓ+νℓ)=(9.50±0.33±0.34)%, B(B0→D-π+π-ℓ+νℓ)B(B0→D∗-ℓ+νℓ)=(2.91±0.37±0.26)%, B(B+→D¯0π+π-ℓ+νℓ)B(B+→D¯∗0ℓ+νℓ)=(3.10±0.26±0.22)%, B(B0→D∗-π+π-ℓ+νℓ)B(B0→D∗-ℓ+νℓ)=(0.99±0.43±0.20)%, B(B+→D¯∗0π+π-ℓ+νℓ)B(B+→D¯∗0ℓ+νℓ)=(1.25±0.27±0.15)%, where the uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. These are the most precise measurements of these branching fraction ratios to date. The invariant mass spectra of the Dπ, D∗π, and Dππ systems are studied, and the branching fraction products B(B0→D2∗-ℓ+νℓ)×B(D2∗-→D¯0π-)=(0.157±0.015±0.005)%, B(B+→D¯0∗0ℓ+νℓ)×B(D¯0∗0→D-π+)=(0.054±0.022±0.005)%, B(B+→D¯2∗0ℓ+νℓ)×B(D¯2∗0→D-π+)=(0.163±0.011±0.008)%, B(B0→D1-ℓ+νℓ)×B(D1-→D¯∗0π-)=(0.306±0.050±0.029)%, B(B0→D1′-ℓ+νℓ)×B(D1′-→D¯∗0π-)=(0.206±0.068±0.025)%, B(B0→D2∗-ℓ+νℓ)×B(D2∗-→D¯∗0π-)=(0.051±0.040±0.010)%, B(B+→D¯10ℓ+νℓ)×B(D¯10→D∗-π+)=(0.249±0.023±0.015)%, B(B+→D¯1′0ℓ+νℓ)×B(D¯1′0→D∗-π+)=(0.138±0.036±0.009)%, B(B+→D¯2∗0ℓ+νℓ)×B(D¯2∗0→D∗-π+)=(0.137±0.026±0.009)%, B(B0→D1-ℓ+νℓ)×B(D1-→D-π+π-)=(0.102±0.013±0.009)%, B(B+→D¯10ℓ+νℓ)×B(D¯10→D¯0π+π-)=(0.105±0.011±0.009)%, are extracted. This is the first observation of the decays B→D¯1ℓ+νℓ with D1→Dπ+π-.

We search for lepton-flavor-violating τ-→e-α and τ-→μ-α decays, where α is an invisible spin-0 boson. The search uses electron-positron collisions at 10.58 GeV center-of-mass energy with an integrated luminosity of 62.8 fb-1, produced by the SuperKEKB collider and collected with the Belle II detector. We search for an excess in the lepton-energy spectrum of the known τ-→e-ν¯eντ and τ-→μ-ν¯μντ decays. We report 95% confidence-level upper limits on the branching-fraction ratio B(τ-→e-α)/B(τ-→e-ν¯eντ) in the range (1.1-9.7)×10-3 and on B(τ-→μ-α)/B(τ-→μ-ν¯μντ) in the range (0.7-12.2)×10-3 for α masses between 0 and 1.6 GeV/c2. These results provide the most stringent bounds on invisible boson production from τ decays.

The processes e+e-→ς0ς¯0 and e+e-→ς+ς¯- are studied using initial-state-radiation events in a sample of 980 fb-1 collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e- collider. The cross sections from the mass threshold to 3 GeV/c2 and the effective form factors of ς0 and ς+ are measured. In the charmonium region, we observe the decays J/ψ→ς0ς¯0 and J/ψ→ς+ς¯- and determine the respective branching fractions.

Using the data sample of 980 fb-1 collected with the Belle detector operating at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e- collider, we present the results of an investigation of the Λπ+ and Λπ- invariant mass distributions looking for substructure in the decay Λc+→Λπ+π+π-. We find a significant signal in each mass distribution. When interpreted as resonances, we find for the Λπ+ (Λπ-) combination a mass of 1434.3±0.6(stat)±0.9(syst) MeV/c2 [1438.5±0.9(stat)±2.5(syst) MeV/c2], an intrinsic width of 11.5±2.8(stat)±5.3(syst) MeV/c2 [33.0±7.5(stat)±23.6(syst) MeV/c2] with a significance of 7.5σ (6.2σ). As these two signals are very close to the K̄N threshold, we also investigate the possibility of a K̄N cusp, and find that we cannot discriminate between these two interpretations due to the limited size of the data sample.

We present the study of the production of double J/ψ mesons using COMPASS data collected with a 190 GeV/c π− beam scattering off NH3, Al and W targets. Kinematic distributions of the collected double J/ψ events are analysed, and the double J/ψ production cross section is estimated for each of the COMPASS targets. The NH3 results are compared to predictions from single- and double-parton scattering models as well as the pion intrinsic charm and the tetraquark exotic resonance hypotheses. It is demonstrated that the single parton scattering production mechanism gives the dominant contribution that is sufficient to describe the data. An upper limit on the double intrinsic charm content of the pion is evaluated. No significant signatures that could be associated with exotic tetraquarks are found in the double J/ψ mass spectrum.

We study the decay B+→K+K-π+ and investigate the angular distribution of K+K- pairs with invariant mass below 1.1 GeV/c2. This region exhibits both a strong enhancement in signal and very large direct CP violation. We construct a coherent sum model for the angular distribution of the S- and P-wave, and report the ratio of their amplitudes, the relative phase and the forward-backward asymmetry. We also report absolute differential branching fractions and direct CP asymmetry for the decay in bins of MK+K- and the differential branching fractions in bins of MK+π-. The results are based on a data sample that contains 772×106 BB¯ pairs collected at the ϒ(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e- collider. The result favors the presence of S- and D-waves in low MK+K- region to the detriment of a P-wave.

We measure the ratio of branching fractions for the ϒ(4S) decays to B+B- and B0B¯0 using B+→J/ψ(ℓℓ)K+ and B0→J/ψ(ℓℓ)K0 samples, where J/ψ(ℓℓ) stands for J/ψ→ℓ+ℓ- (ℓ=e or μ), with 711 fb-1 of data collected at the ϒ(4S) resonance with the Belle detector. We find the decay rate ratio of ϒ(4S)→B+B- over ϒ(4S)→B0B¯0 to be 1.065±0.012±0.019±0.047, which is the most precise measurement to date. The first and second uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively, and the third uncertainty is due to the assumption of isospin symmetry in B→J/ψ(ℓℓ)K.

The mass difference between Λc(2625)+ and Λc+ is measured to be M(Λc(2625)+)-M(Λc+)=341.518±0.006±0.049 MeV/c2. The upper limit on the width is measured to be Γ(Λc(2625)+)<0.52 MeV/c2 at 90% confidence level. Based on a full Dalitz plot fit, branching ratios with respect to the mode Λc(2625)+→Λc+π+π- are measured to be B(Λc(2625)+→ςc0π+)B(Λc(2625)+→Λc+π+π-)=(5.19±0.23±0.40)% and B(Λc(2625)+→ςc++π-)B(Λc(2625)+→Λc+π+π-)=(5.13±0.26±0.32)%, where the first and second uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. We present a study of rare decay modes B+→Ds+h0, B+→Ds∗+h0, and B+→D+h0, where h0 denotes the neutral meson η or K0, using a data sample of (772±10)×106 BB¯ events produced at the ϒ(4S) resonance. The data were collected by the Belle detector operating at the asymmetric-energy KEKB collider. We find no evidence for these decays, so we set upper limits at the 90% confidence level on the branching fractions of B+→Ds+h0, Ds∗+h0, and D+h0 decay modes. Along with these rare decay modes, we report improved measurements of the color-suppressed decay branching fractions B(B¯0→D0η)=(26.6±1.2±2.1)×10-5 and B(B¯0→D0K̄0)=(5.6±0.5±0.2)×10-5.
